LaLigaWeekly Transfer Talk
Is Barcelona in danger of losing their prized possessions, their quartet of youngsters, graduates from La Masia football academy?

Sevilla, Blackburn, Celtic and Everton are supposedly in for promising Spanish winger Jeffren Suarez. His father is threatening to leave the club if his son doesn't receive more playing time. Well, it would be a serious mistake for Jeffren to give up on the opportunity to compete for practically the one position that is still open to a certain extent; the left wing is in a holding pattern as Thierry Henry is obviously on his last legs. Perform well as his backup and you have the inside run at the starting post next year, unless you are afraid that Barcelona will spend that Summer money on David Silva which is then in your best interest to usher a move out quickly, but why Blackburn or Everton and is Scotland the right move for a promising teen? That's where careers go to die I'm afriad. Sevilla seems like an option, but that's a lateral move to back up either one of the Diegos (Capel or Perrotti)-whichever one is still there in the fall. Possibility: unlikely.

Jonathan dos Santos on the other hand, is ironically being contacted by Harry Redknapp at Tottenham; the one man most responsible for derailing the promising career of his brother Giovani. Does that even make sense to any of you out there? I realize the Mexican siblings play different positions and are very different players physicaly, but why would his family risk it right now. He's getting first team action. He played in the cup competitions and will probably get league games as Barca are out of the Copa del Rey run, but it's unfortunate that he and Thiago Alcantara (wanted by Chelsea) play in a very crowded and very talented Barcelona midfield. Either way both will be entering very crowded midfields for either London club. Possibility: unlikely

Gai Assulin, wanted by Arsenal, is the one player that may be fated to leave as he plays on the right wing and midfield where Lionel Messi plays and where Pedrito has been covering. Assulin can play on the left, but that would put him in direct competition with Jeffren who has more first team experience than Assulin. Would Barcelona do business again with Arsenal after losing both Cesc Fabregas and Fran Merida to the Gunners in consecutive years? Maybe if the price is right. The Israeli International (dead ringer for Carlos Tevez actually) may find his future better served away from the Camp Nou. Possibility: unlikely, but less so than his teammates.

  2. I think if Jeffren goes to Sevilla and while Perotti goes in the opposite direction that everyone will be happy and that's just fine with me.:)

  4. Perotti straight up for Jeffren? Sure and why not throw Diego Capel in for good measure. I mean...he's Jeffren. Anybody who wants to pry Perotti out of Sevilla is going to have to overpay Soler and he'll want straight cash at an above market price because that's what Sevilla do. His buyout clause is 48 million euros as of December.
